Hi waffles, I hope you're all healthy. I'm still fighting with corona😑 I am bored at home and I spend my time with homework and I guess I will share the term's last homework with you but don't worry, I will continue trying new websites and sharing them with you. All of the things I said to you about flipped classrooms are valid for my new project. Instead of grammar, me and my friend, Zeynep, took a video teaching vocabulary. Let's talk about it;
First of all, I am not agree with doing homework with a partner because two of us want to try different websites or software. We discover different things and use it but it seems unorganized when we combine them. Although sharing work with a partner makes our project easier, I prefer doing it alone.
When we think about lexical knowledge, students need to make some effort , which includes memorizing and practicing. Just watching vocabulary teaching video is not sufficient. In flipped classrooms, besides composing video, the teacher needs to give some homework and giving time for practices in the classroom. Since our students are grade 4, we want our video not to be boring. That's why, we animated our video with cartoon characters.
As I want to animate my video, I tried lots of different software like plogaton which seems really professional but as it was not free, I had to ignore it. If you can pay, you should definitely use plogaton. In the end, I decided to use animaker. With animaker, you can animate whatever you want but it is limited because of pro membership. I tried to teach some job words by animating them. If you want to see, just click here! Also, I you want to reach Zeynep's thoughts about this project, you can click here. 😊
Take care of yourself, stay healthy!
